UNDATED - (KDAL) - In Minnesota this winter, five people have died after going through the ice and another is missing and presumed drowned. The winter season is now on track to be the deadliest on the ice in more than five years. All the fatalities involved snowmobiles or other vehicles either crashing into open water or breaking through the ice. As winter begins winding down, the ice will become even more unstable and DNR officials remind winter enthusiasts not to let their guard down and that ice is never 100 percent safe.
