SUPERIOR, WI (KDAL) - Superior Police on Thursday arrested a level three sex offender who had escaped from a St. Paul halfway house earlier in the week. Shah-Quran Aziz allegedly removed his ankle bracelet and fled the approved housing in which he was staying on Tuesday, according to a news release from the SPD. The Minnesota Department of Corrections Fugitive Task Force developed information leading them to believe Aziz was in Superior, and officers from that department assisted in the arrest in the lobby of the Clifford Lund Apartments at 914 Tower Ave. Aziz was taken into custody without incident and is in the Douglas County Jail awaiting transfer to Minnesota corrections. According to the release, Aziz has an extensive criminal history and was considered a danger to the public.
