DULUTH, MN (KDAL) - In an effort to educate on the importance of the St. Louis River to the region, the St. Louis River Alliance will hold its "Winter Walk on the River" today from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Free and open to the public, the event begins at the Boy Scout Landing parking lot at the terminus of Commonwealth Ave. in New Duluth. The tour plans to visit sites of former saw mills in Radio Tower Bay as well as factory ruins in the river across from New Duluth. Skis and snowshoes are welcome, and must be provided by participants. The hike is part of a series of programs and activities put on throughout the year by the alliance to promote the river and its assets.
