DULUTH, MN (KDAL) - A winter storm watch is in effect for the entire northland with potentially significant snow scheduled to fall Sunday and Monday. The National Weather Service in Duluth reports an intensifying winter storm is expected to move from Nebraska into Minnesota and Wisconsin today. Light snow, possibly mixed with sleet or freezing rain, will develop tonight near Brainerd and toward the St. Croix River Valley, and become heavy in the northland on Sunday. The north shore and northern Wisconsin are expected to get the brunt of the storm, with increasing east and northeast winds creating blowing snow. Though officials say it is still unclear how much snow will fall in the area, it is clear a large swath of the upper midwest will be hit and travel conditions will deteriorate.
