UNDATED (KDAL) - A record number of Turn In Poachers (TIP) hotline calls last year resulted in a significant increase in poaching arrests by the DNR in 2012. The number of calls jumped 54 percent over the previous year and led to 359 arrests for deer, fish and waterfowl violations. Since it was started in 1981, the TIP Hotline alerted conservation officers to thousands of violations and paid out over 350 thousand dollars in cash rewards for the information. Nearly half of the informants turned down the reward money.
