ST. PAUL, MN (KDAL) - Northland residents affected by the June floods last year will have more time to apply for financial assistance for home repairs or rebuilding. The Minnesota Housing Finance Agency has extended the application deadline for Quick Start Disaster Recovery Program loans to February 28th. The program is intended for homeowners who are unable to repair or rebuild because the damage exceeds what private insurance or federal assistance covers. Qualified applicants can receive up to 40 thousand dollars in a forgivable, no interest loan. The loan is forgiven only if the resident remains in the home for ten years. Contact the Arrowhead Economic Development Agency at 800-662-5711 for more information and applications.
