ST. PAUL, MN (KDAL) - The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources has released preliminary numbers from the 2013 firearms deer season. Excluding the late season in southeastern Minnesota, hunters harvested 144 thousand deer, a 6 percent drop from 2012 when the total was 153 thousand. The statewide muzzle-loader season continues until December 15th and the archery season closes on December 31st. A final report that includes more detailed harvest information will be released by the DNR at the end of January.
