MINNEAPOLIS, MN (KDAL) - The official groundbreaking for the new Viking football stadium is set for Tuesday at the Metrodome in downtown Minneapolis. The new 975 million dollar facility will be built on the current site of the Metrodome which will be demolished following the last home game of the Vikings this season. The Vikings will play at TCF Bank Stadium on the UM Campus for the next two seasons and the new stadium is scheduled to open in time for the 2016 football season.
