DULUTH, MN (KDAL) - Minnesota 8th District Congressman Rick Nolan joined two other Representatives in urging President Obama and House leaders to call lawmakers back to Washington immediately to deal with possible military action against the Government of Syria. Nolan says the President is Constitutionally bound to seek authorization from Congress before engaging our military forces in what could be an act of war. He says the British Parliament is about to reconvene to debate the situation in Syria. Nolan, along with Republican Congressman Chris Gibson of New York and Democrat Peter Welch of Vermont said in a letter to the President and House Speaker that Congress needs to address some critical questions before any military action is taken.
