ST. PAUL, MN (KDAL) - The Minnesota DNR reports that a 16 year old boy was bitten by a wolf at the West Winnie Campground on Lake Winnibigoshish on Saturday. The teen sustained multiple puncture wounds and a laceration on his head. The wolf ran into the woods after being kicked by the boy. The victim was taken to a hospital in Bemidji for treatment of his wounds that were not life threatening. Officers trapped and killed an animal that matched the description of the one involved in the attack in the campground on Monday. The wolf is now being tested for rabies. The DNR says before this incident, a serious attack on a human by a wolf had never been documented in Minnesota.
