DULUTH, MN (KDAL) - Major revitalization work has begun on the historic stone pavilion at the Lake Superior Zoo in Duluth. The structure is over 70 years old and was built as part of the WPA. Work will include tuck pointing of the walls and foundation, a new roof and the structure will be enclosed by adding windows and doors. The 475 thousand dollar project is being funded by the Minnesota Clean Water and Land Legacy Amendment, the Donald Weesner Foundation and private donations. The building should be complete by late fall.
