BAYFIELD, WI (KDAL) - A crew from the U-S Coast Guard rescued two men from the waters of Lake Superior on Monday when their sailboat capsized off Madeline Island. Nobody was injured in the incident that took place around 2:30 p-m. The Coast Guard Station in Bayfield was alerted by a 9-1-1 call that two men were in the water after their 17 foot sailboat capsized. The two were rescued and the sailboat was towed to the Madeline Island Marina. A Coast Guard spokesman says the men were wearing life jackets and wetsuits.
