DULUTH, MN (KDAL) - The Minnesota Slip Bridge between the DECC and Canal Park is out of service and will remain in the open position until at least Friday. Crews will be doing some repairs including installing new cables and a new locking mechanism to prevent the bridge deck from oscillating. Although the City of Duluth realizes not being able to use the bridge is an inconvenience to many, it will remain out of service until crews are confident that it is safe to use. The blue pedestrian bridge was installed in 1991 and has had numerous breakdowns and problems over the years.
