WASHINGTON, D.C. - Earlier this week, the FBI announced the arrests of 150 people involved in child prostitution rings including three sex traffickers in Minnesota. A bill introduced by Senator Amy Klobuchar, Representative Rick Nolan from Minnesota and others on both sides of the aisle would help to eliminate sex trafficking rings by targeting the purchasers of sexual acts and ensuring that they are prosecuted as human traffickers. Under current law there is often confusion as to whether or not those making the purchase are traffickers, resulting in the acquittal of the very people who are perpetuating the crimes.
