UNDATED (KDAL) - This Saturday's fishing opener in Wisconsin is looking much better than it did just a week ago. Thanks to recent warmer weather, the Department of Natural Resources says Bayfield's Lake Namekagon will have enough open water to host the 48th Annual Governor's Fishing Opener on May 4th. The opener follows colder than normal spring temperatures in March and April, a complete turnaround from last year when record setting warm temps were the rule during the same two months. Minnesota's fishing opener will be held a week later, on May 11th.
