ST. PAUL, MN (KDAL) - The Minnesota House on Wednesday approved the Omnibus Tax Bill on a 69-64 vote. The bill includes tax increases on alcohol and tobacco products and ups the taxes on those making 500 thousand dollars a year or more. Corporate tax loopholes would be closed and funding for education is increased. The bill also provides property tax relief and increases local government aid with a new formula. Under the bill Duluth would see increases in LGA by 1.5 million dollars in 2014 and 2.1 million in 2015.
