DULUTH, MN (KDAL) - The acting director for the National Center for Immunization and Respiratory Diseases at the CDC was in Duluth Monday to kick off National Infant Immunization Week. Dr. Melinda Wharton joined Minnesota Health Commissioner Dr. Edward Ehlinger and officials at Essentia Health to point out the importance of vaccines in protecting the health of infants and young children. Minnesota has a relatively high vaccination rate compared to other states but they are still not as high as they should be especially in some communities and groups of people. Get more information about immunizations at the Minnesota Department of Health website.
