DULUTH, MN (KDAL) - The 2nd Harvest Northern Lakes Food Bank had better than average results in their Empty Bowl event at the Depot in Duluth. The 20th Annual Empty Bowl this year raised 59,249 dollars for the food bank. Since 1994, the total has now climbed to 817 thousand dollars putting the number of meals provided to just over 4 million. The increase in donations were attributed to more community members and school children pre-purchasing bowls and more interest in the online and silent auctions.
