ST. PAUL, MN (KDAL) - The owner of the Last Place On Earth in Duluth is once again a free man. A U-S Magistrate released Jim Carlson from custody after his arrest last week for an alleged violation of his probation. Carlson said the gun found in the basement of his store on East Superior Street during a recent raid was an accidental oversight. The magistrate agreed, saying the prosecution did not have enough evidence to detain him. Under terms of a pre-trial release on federal charges, Carlson was ordered not to be in possession of a firearm.
