DULUTH, MN (KDAL) - St. Louis County is offering a 5 thousand dollar reward for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or people responsible for the theft of copper wiring from a contractor working on the Haines Road reconstruction project. Hammerlund Construction reported that 1200 feet of wiring was stolen overnight on Monday with a value of about 40 thousand dollars. The theft did not delay the project, but County Commissioner Mike Forsman said it was important to take a stand that the crime will not be tolerated and to offer the reward. Duluth Police are investigating the case and any information about the crime should be directed to the Property Crimes Bureau at 730-5160.
