Duluth, MN (KDAL) - The final three Fall Color Excursions on the North Shore Scenic Railroad between Duluth and Two Harbors are this weekend. Departure times are 10:30AM on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
The Autumn Colors are still hanging in there on trees along the shore of Lake Superior. The Visita Fleet's excursions also continue this weekend with runs up the St. Louis River where the late season colors can still be seen on the Duluth hillside.
Tourism officials have said that this year's Fall Tourist Season has been one of the best of late, following a summer that staggered after the floods in June, but recovered in July and August. Just to put everything in perspective, Season Ski Ticket sales have already started at Spirit Mountain. The Duluth ski hill will host its first big event next month with the SNOCROSS races.
