Will Shawn Hunter Be On 'Girl Meets World'? Rider Strong Opens Up!

By Alicia Lutes, Hollywood.com Staff

Well this isn't totally the message we'd hoped to hear from Shawn, but it's something! Looks like Rider Strong is getting in on the media frenzy surrounding the news about Girl Meets World—perhaps the most talked-about not-yet-an-official-show in Disney's history—and has taken to his blog to pontificate about Boy Meets World and the future.

When it comes to the impact of the show on his life, Strong doesn't mince words. ""For more than two-thirds of my life I've had the good fortune to experience the incredible support of Boy Meets World fans,"" Strong explains. ""I can't express enough gratitude to the BMW fans, who not only watched our show when it first aired, but who continue to watch it, spread the word, and even introduce it to their children. It's an overwhelming feeling to have that kind of support for something we did over a decade ago. When I opened a Twitter account, I thought maybe I'd get a few hundred followers. It wasn't long before thousands of people were checking in and sending me messages.""

Strong goes on to explain what seems to be a running theme with all of the actors on Boy Meets World, and that it ""was a defining aspect of my life, and I cherish those seven years. It was never just a job — on a personal level, many of my best memories and friendships were formed because of it.""

But when it comes to the future, and his potential involvement on Girl Meets World? The actor formally known as Shawn Hunter doesn't have a role on the new series...yet, but does have a few supporting words for the returning guard of the World. ""So I am extremely happy for Ben and Danielle to be able to continue the story.""

That doesn't mean that he wouldn't welcome the chance to appear on the show at some point, though: ""At this point, I have no official involvement in Girl Meets World. There might be a chance to see some of the BMW cast in a guest spot, and I think it would be nice to find out where our characters have been all these years. Girl Meets World will be, and I think it should be, it's own show. It will be about Cory and Topanga, their daughter, and a new set of characters. It's the next generation. And I, for one, can't wait to see it evolve.""

The resounding response seems to be that Boy Meets World fans are dying to know what's happened to Shawn since he and the gang moved to New York, so it seems doubtful that viewers would be anything but excited to see Shawn at least guest star on the series.

Are you excited for Girl Meets World? Do you want Strong to end up on the show in some capacity? Let us know in the comments!
