UNDATED (KDAL) - Minnesota and WIsconsin lottery players will have a chance at winning the 425 million dollar Powerball jackpot in Wednesday night's drawing. The highest previous Powerball jackpot was 365 million dollars set about 7 years ago. The odds of winning the grand prize is about one in 175 million. Meanwhile, lottery officials and the Northstar Problem Gambling Alliance are reminding parents and other adults that lottery tickets should not be given as gifts to minors. Lottery players must be 18 or older to buy or redeem lottery tickets in Minnesota. A new study shows kids who receive lottery tickets as gifts tend to begin gambling earlier in life and the sooner they start, the more likely they are to develop a gambling problem as an adult.
