Brainerd, MN (KDAL) -- The Wausau Paper Corporation in Brainerd is expected to cut up to one-third of its hourly employees by the end of the year.
The move comes a few months after the closing of the Verso Paper Mill in Sartell, and reflects the growing trend of Americans moving toward E-readers such as the iPad and other tablets. Despite the job cuts, Wausau plans to spend $35 million to convert its operations from printing and writing paper to make more tape and food-grade paper.
