WASHINGTON (Reuters) - MSNBC projected that Democrat Tammy Duckworth won Illinois' eighth congressional district in Tuesday's election.

Duckworth, a wounded Iraq War veteran, defeated incumbent Republican Representative Joe Walsh, a Tea Party activist.
