WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Fox News projected that Democratic Representative Tammy Baldwin won the U.S. Senate seat from Wisconsin in Tuesday's election.

Baldwin defeated former Wisconsin governor and secretary of health and human services Tommy Thompson. She takes the seat being vacated by Senator Herb Kohl, a Democrat.
