(KDAL) - This is Winter Weather Awareness Week in both Minnesota and Wisconsin. It's a time when the Emergency Management Agencies are urging residents to get prepared for the cold, snowy weather that winter brings. Officials recommend putting an emergency kit in your vehicle and including basic supplies that could save your life if stranded in heavy snow or cold weather. Besides the weather, another winter hazard is carbon monoxide poisoning. Have heating appliances checked out and have a working carbon monoxide dectector in your home. Check the Wisconsin or Minnesota emergency management websites for additional winter preparations.
