UNDATED (KDAL) - Across Minnesota a record 2.85 million dollars was raised for Special Olympics by people jumping into freezing water at the 16 Polar Bear Plunges across the state. In Duluth, a total of 1,004 plungers raised over 157 thousand dollars as they took a midwinter dip in Lake Superior. The annual fundraiser helps the Special Olympics in Minnesota to offer sports training and competition to more than 7200 children and adults with intellectual disabilities.
