ST. PAUL, MN (KDAL) - Several Duluth projects are included in 3.8 million dollars in grants from the Minnesota Historical Society.  The grants are funded by the Minnesota Legacy Amendment and provide funds for preserving historic and cultural projects.  The Duluth projects include a 250 thousand dollar grant to the American Indian Community Housing Organization for repairs to the historic YMCA building.  Over 168 thousand dollars to the City of Duluth for stabilizing structural elements and repairing the roof of the Sacred Heart Cathedral.  U-M-D gets a grant of 62 thousand dollars to survey prehistoric archaeological in the Cloquet River travel corridor.  Several other projects in St. Louis County also received Historical Society awards.
