Duluth, MN (KDAL) - If 2012 was the year of the flood, 2013 will be the year of flood recovery. In going through a list of New Year's resolutions for the city of Duluth, Mayor Don Ness said recovery from the city's worst flood will continue to be the focus. He said there are still families hurting from the damage, and plenty of infrastructure still suffering. And although he's proud of the level of recovery since the June flood, Ness said the issue will likely top his resolution list for 2014 as well.
The mayor also added a focus on the local economy as a New Year's resolution. He said there are a number of companies either planning to move to Duluth or to expand here, which will create hundreds of what he calls "good paying, professional jobs." He also promised a couple of new announcements on that front in the early-goings of 2013.
