There had better be snow come Feb. 9. That's the day the Duluth Rotary Club and Proctor High School DECA students aim to make history, when they sponser a mass snow-angel event to raise money for indigenous Ethiopians affected by climate change. The groups are hoping more than 9,000 people will simultaneously make snow angels on the UMD campus. Gates for the event open at 9:30 a.m. and the snow angels will begin at 11 a.m. The rotary club expects to raise $28,000 to help the group Global Team for Local Initiatives provide projects related to water, hygiene, income generation and functional adult literacy. The groups are encouraging a $5 to $10 donation to participate and families are encouraged.
