The University of Minnesota Duluth wasted little time in locking-in its new head football coach. The school announced today Curt Wiese, the team's offensive coordinator, will take over as head coach following the departure of the venerable Bob Nielson, who had also acted as athletic director. The move comes in the middle of the recruiting season, allowing the coaches and officials some solid ground on which to stand while seeking talent. Meanwhile, Assistant Athletic Director Karen Stromme will take over as interim athletic director while the school implements a nationwide search, according to Sports Information Director Bob Nygaard.
