Minnesota has one of the highest youth employment rates in the country, according to a new Kids Count report. The report states 42 percent of state residents 16 to 19 have jobs, while 74 percent of young adults ages 20 to 24 are employed. The report did note Minnesota has 57,000 "disconnected" youths who are not working or in school. Stephanie Hogenson, of Children's Defense Fund Minnesota, said young people need more training and educational opportunities to ensure they have the right tools to find employment.
