ST. PAUL, Min. (MNN) - A bill that would allow snowmaking at a North Shore resort is making its way through the Minnesota state Legislature. A Senate committee yesterday passed legislation that would allow the use of frozen river water to make snow at the Lutsen Ski Resort. Up to two-million-gallons would be pumped from the Poplar River each day. Conservation groups are worried the measure would impact fish and wildlife around the river.
