More Amendments Considered For 2012 Ballot

ST. PAUL, Min. (MNN) -  Republicans are getting ready to put several controversial constitutional amendments on the ballot in 2012 to bypass likely vetoes from Governor Dayton.  Floor votes are expected soon in the Minnesota House on a proposed constitutional amendment that would define marriage as between one man and one woman, banning same-sex marriage in Minnesota.  Another controversial proposed constitutional amendment would require that voters present photo identification at the polls before receiving their ballot.  Meanwhile, House Republicans are cueing up two other proposed constitutional amendments:  one would limit state spending to revenues actually received in the previous budget cycle; another would require a three-fifths majority in both the House and Senate to approve any increase in statewide taxes.
