CHANHASSEN, Min. (MNN) - Early spring flooding has been subdued by cool, dry weather across Minnesota and that situation should hold steady through midweek. Forecasters continue flood warnings along the Minnesota, Red, Cottonwood, the Crow, Des Moines and Redwood rivers today. Meanwhile, one of Minnesota's premiere riverfronts continues gearing up for the flood fight. It started with sandbagging, now Stillwater city officials are holding a community flood meeting. The meeting's focus is on the many restaurants, antique shops and galleries that are so close to the St. Croix River. The city's riverwalk is already flooded and a crest later this week could close the Stillwater Lift Bridge, causing major traffic headaches for commuters east of the Twin Cities.
