MADISON, WI (KDAL) - The Wisconsin Senate passed the new two year budget on Thursday that was previously passed by the Assembly. The measure now goes to Governor Scott Walker for his signature. While the vote was being taken, protesters were chanting "kill the bill" and two demonstrators chained themselves to the Senate Gallery railing and were arrested. The bill passed on a party line vote and a series of amendments offered by Democrats during the debate were all defeated by the Republican controlled senate. Democratic State Senator Bob Jauch of Poplar called the policies in the budget "madness on steroids".
