DULUTH, Mn (KDAL) - Some strong thunderstorms across parts of northern Minnesota on Tuesday morning produced some periods of hail. Up to an inch of hail covered the ground near Cass Lake, Grand Rapids and just north of Duluth. The National Weather Service Office in Duluth says the hail stones were generally the size of a dime to a quarter and the largest near Cohasset were the size of a half dollar. Southern and central parts of Minnesota and Wisconsin are dealing with another day of extreme heat with mid 90's expected in many areas. Temperatures in the Twin Ports and near Lake Superior remained cooler again with off-lake winds.
