ST. PAUL, Mn (KDAL) - Minnesota Governor Dayton and Republican Legislative leaders are expected to be talking again today as they try to come to an agreement and head off a possible government shutdown at the end of the month. Governor Dayton has asked the GOP to come up with a counter offer to his budget plan that calls for an increase in taxes for upper income earners. Among the consequences of a shutdown would be state employee layoffs, a stoppage of infrastructure improvement work around the state and a downgrade in the state's bond rating.
