The Minnesota unemployment rate fell one-tenth of one percent in December to a seasonally adjusted 7 percent. Employment statewide declined by 22,400 jobs in December but still had a gain of 29 thousand jobs for the year. Mining and logging were the only industrial sectors gaining jobs in the state last month. Job losses occurred in a number of sectors including government, transportation, education and health.
