Even with state House approval of a round of budget cuts last night, it's not clear whether Governor Dayton will sign off on the plan.  House Republicans voted to continue cuts made by former Governor Tim Pawlenty, which would eliminate about one-sixth of the state's projected budget deficit.  House Democratic Minority Leader Paul Thissen calls the reductions blind and random "hacking," while Lakeville Republican Mary Liz Holberg argues that Minnesota is out of money and "it's time to stop spending."  The Republican-controlled Senate is also likely to pass the budget cuts, amounting to around 900-million dollars.
