UNDATED (KDAL) - The Minnesota unemployment rate dropped by a tenth of a point to a seasonally adjusted 6.6 percent in March. The figures were released on Thursday by the Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development. The nationwide rate in March was 8.8 percent. DEED Commissioner Mark Phillips says the March figures show a continuing pattern of slow, but steady progress in the Minnesota labor market. In the Duluth-Superior metropolitan statistical area, 200 jobs were gained in the month, but the Twin Port's point-one percent gain was the lowest of the 5 state metro areas. The largest employment gain was 2 percent in the St. Cloud area.
