GRAND RAPIDS, Min (MNN) - Much of Minnesota is struggling with too much water. But parts of the state have too little and that's causing concern about grass fires. The DNR's Ron Stoffel says the danger is real but may be less severe this season because heavy snow matted down the grass. Starting Friday, open burning restrictions take effect in 19 central Minnesota counties. The area extends from Moose Lake to Backus, Wadena and Alexandria. You can get special permits for some open burning from the DNR.
