(St. Paul, MN) -- Traffic signals that allow drivers to make left turns on a yellow flashing arrow will soon be popping up on Minnesota highways. Mn-DOT Engineer Jerry Kotzenmacher says the first one recently went up at I-94 and Highway 95 in Woodbury. Kotzenmacher says the new signals allow people to turn left when there's a gap in oncoming traffic instead of waiting for the green arrow. Mn-DOT had a flashing yellow turn signal in Mendota Heights as part of a pilot project in 2006 and city officials were disappointed when it was taken down.
