Even though Minnesota employers added over 14-thousand jobs last month, the state's unemployment rate still ticked up from seven to seven-point-one percent in October That's because more people who had given up looking for work are now back in the job market, plus the figure includes a revision to September's job count. Employment and Economic Development Commissioner Dan McElroy says nine of the state's 11 employment sectors added jobs -- every one except construction and manufacturing. McElroy says it's the first time manufacturing hasn't been up in some time, but he says officials are not discouraged because that sector is still up significantly in the last year. Minnesota's unemployment rate still remains well below the national rate which held steady at nine-point-six percent in October.
