(Undated) -- The state's food shelves continue to serve record numbers of people. Sue Kainz (kynz) with Minnesota FoodShare says statewide food shelves distributed 63-million pounds of food to those in need. Kainz says she was "overwhelmed by the number of new people coming to food shelves" in southwestern Minnesota -- adding the Twin Cities metro is also seeing higher numbers of people being served.
