MINNEAPOLIS, Mn (WSAU) The Badgers hockey team skated to a 3-3 tie against the Minnesota Gophers on Saturday night. The Badgers tied the game on a 3rd period goal with 3-minutes left in regulation. The teams skated to a scoreless 5-minute overtime period.

With a shutout win on Friday, the Badgers get 3 out of 4 possible points in the standings from their trip to Minneapolis. The Badgers are 6-2-2 for the season.

On Friday Scott Gudmanson was perfect in goal with 24 saves , as Wisconsin blew out the Gophers 6-0 Friday. Michael Mersch had two goals to lead the Wisconsin offense. He has five goals in nine games this season. The Badgers improve to 6-2-1 overall, 3-1-1 in the WCHa and will play again Saturday night.

Friday the Wisconsin women's hockey team lost their first game of the season Friday night as Minnesota took the 7-5 win. Hilary Knight had a goal and two assists for the Badgers who are now 8-1 overall.
