(St. Paul, MN) -- In a development that's shocked Democrats and political analysts alike, Republicans in Tuesday's election took control of both the Minnesota House and the Minnesota Senate. Some pundits acknowledged it was a long-shot possibility for the G-O-P to win back a majority in the Minnesota House -- but the Senate has been in the hands of Democrats since the early 1970s.
