MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. (WTAQ) - The Minnesota Vikings have waived wide receiver Randy Moss.
The "Minneapolis Star-Tribune" says head coach Brad Childress told the players about the move during a meeting Monday.
During a press conference the same day, Childress had said he had no regrets acquiring Moss, but didn't mention the move.
The decision comes a day after the outspoken wideout had 1 catch for 8 yards in a 28-18 loss to the New England Patriots. The Vikes acquired Moss from the Pats after Week 4 of the season.
After this weekend's return to New England, the 33-year-old Moss said he missed the Pats. He also said he wouldn't answer questions from the press for the rest of the season after being fined by the NFL for not making himself available to the media during the week.
Moss has 22 catches for 313 yards and 5 TD's this season.
