(St. Paul, MN) -- Minnesota is prodding federal officials to let the state resume managing its gray wolf population. State DNR officials say the wolves now total about three-thousand - and there's no need to keep them on the endangered species list. The DNR's Dave Schad says there's been an increase in wolf attacks on farm animals and hunters saw fewer deer this season possibly because of higher wolf numbers. Schad says gray wolves even go after large moose. The state hopes to hear back from Washington within three months.
